Full description

Jungfraujoch is an “escape the world” kind of place, where you can elevate your mind, your body, and your soul. It sits at an altitude of 3454m. It is the highest railway station throughout Europe, that is why it is called “Top of Europe”. It is situated right in the heart of the UNESCO Natural World Heritage property of “Jungfraujoch Swiss Alps - Aletsch”.

Jungfraujoch is a "saddle" between the two peaks of Mount Jungfrau and Mount Mönch offering enchanting views of the mountains and the Grindelwald Valley.

Departing from your hotel in Lucerne, AlpExcursion's friendly driver-guide will take you on a breathtakingly scenic trip to reach Grindelwald. This village represents the authentic picture of Switzerland through the chalet-style woody houses and plenty of cozy restaurants.

From Grindelwald, you will take the cogwheel ride and rise to the Top of Europe - Jungfraujoch, a "World Heritage Site" listed by UNESCO.

A ride of around an hour and a half until you reach the top, where there is permanent snow and ice. On the way, you will have a stop for 5 minutes in Eismeer (Sea of Ice) before continuing the way to the top.

Upon arrival, you will be able to choose from a list of entertaining activities, such as the Ice Place, which includes several sculptures of an eagle, penguin, or bear, as though they had just turned to ice, appearing very natural.

Another highlight is the Sphinx Observatory, from where you can look around 360 degrees and get lost in the breathtaking views of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau Mountains.

On the way between the Sphinx Observatory and Ice Palace, you can find the Alpine Sensation, which will send shivers down your spine. The reason is not only the frosty temperature but also the history of sacrifices the miners made to create this eternal winter wonderland that we enjoy today.

After hours of exploration, the delicious Swiss meals are waiting for you at local panoramic restaurants. In addition, you may delve into the world of delicate Swiss chocolate at the Lindt shop.

Next, you will get the chance to visit Lauterbrunnen, the homeland of 72 mesmerizing waterfalls and colorful Alpine meadows. The village with its pure and natural beauty has a huge diversity of sightseeing attractions, such as historical monuments, and adventurous and amusement activities.

This private tour package of the most must-visit places in Switzerland will give you lots of memorable moments. And when you have fully enjoyed your trip to Jungfraujoch, AlpExcursion.com will take you smoothly to the initial meeting point in Lucerne.
